Happy Birthday Grayson!

Our little boy turned one on Friday! It's crazy to think he isn't really a baby anymore. He is a toddler. CRAZY!!! This year has gone by so fast. We are so in love with Grayson and love watching him grow.

On Friday we took Grayson to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC. We all had so much fun and Grayson loved all the animals.

On Saturday we had a little birthday party for Grayson! We invited some of the kids Grayson enjoys playing with on a regular basis. We choose to do a dog theme party because Grayson loves dogs especially when they bark and jump on him. We don't have a dog and I don't see that happening anytime soon but for now we will just enjoy others.

Grayson looked around as everyone was singing happy birthday to him. He couldn't really figure out why everyone was singing.

So Grayson didn't really didn't know what to do with the cake. One of our friends took his hand and shoved it into the cake and then rub it on his face. Grayson was confused.

This was the final damage. Grayson wouldn't eat the cake and became a little frustrated. He was a little tired.

Grayson enjoyed opening his presents even though he lost interest very quickly. He did get a lot of fun toys to play with and books to read.

Happy Birthday, Grayson! We love you so much!

Sad trip to Ohio

My Grandpa Bailey passed away on October 29th. It was a huge shock to everyone and some very sad news to receive. We left and traveled to Ohio. It was a very difficult time and I often think of the man that the world lost. We love you and miss you!

We were in Ohio three weeks before my Grandpa passed away for my Great Grandma memorial service and I am glad that I had taken a picture with Grandpa holding Grayson.

Grayson first Christmas was an awesome day! I can't wait until he gets older and gets up way too early and get totally excited, but for now we had so much fun.

Our little Man!

Grayson is growing so fast. He is now 11 months old. I know, crazy right. Over the last few weeks he has started doing so many new things. Crawling, up on his knees, pulling himself up, and not looking so much like mommy's baby anymore. I look at him in awe and can't believe it's been 11 months.

Even though Grayson can crawl on his knee he still opts for the military crawl. It has to be so much harder but it's what he is most comfortable with I guess.

Grayson is back to loving bath time. For about 2 months bath time was a nightmare in this house. It was wash him as quickly as possible and get him out. He would have this look of panic on his face that would break my heart. Then he would scream and cry the whole time.

But now he loves the bath. He loves to play with his toys and stand up and fall back on his bottom. It so much fun watching him in the bath tube.

Grayson has started crawling up the stair this pass week. The other morning I went looking for him thinking he was playing in the mudroom and he had crawled up to the first landing. Needless to say I was a little freaked out how quickly and quietly he did that.

We had put in a cat door to the garage for Pheobe and Grayson loves to throw whatever he can out of it. He has even figured out how to get Daddy's shoes out of it which is pretty impressive.


As we are preparing for Grayson big birthday I can't help but be a little sad at how fast the last year has gone but I am loving every stage and watching him grow.

Which Way Do We Go?

Saturday we went to a corn maze as a family. We had so much fun! We first went into the maze that was very large and crazy. They gave us question and check points to guide us through. Even though some of the answers to the questions were wrong we made it with my great directional ability. Drew wouldn't probably admit it but when I was leading we would go the right way but when he was leading we would get all turned around.

After the maze and much convincing Grayson got his face painted. He was asleep which is why it even happened. He woke up shortly after and was all smiles for the girl who painted his face.

We were able to get a few good pictures of Grayson even though he wasn't much into smiling for us this day.

Road Trip!

So last weekend me and Grayson headed to Ohio with Grandma and Grandpa Riche! I have to say I was a little nervous about an 8 hour car ride with a 6 month old. Grayson was a real trooper and only melted down for short periods of time, nothing a quick stop and stretch couldn't fix.

This was the face I got when I moved to the back to hang out with him. He wasn't too happy with me.

When he would finally be asleep life was good!

On the way home! Even though he will sleep just about anywhere he tends to fight going to sleep. This was no exception!

We were both very happy to be home and back with daddy and daddy was glad to have us home. We were all grateful for a safe trip and can't wait to go back hopefully with daddy along for the ride next time.

Wow I'm horrible!

So as I was looking at my sister-in-laws blog today and I realized I haven't updated mine in some time. Grayson has gotten so big and has been doing so many cute and new things over the last 2 months. He gets bigger and bigger everyday. He is growing like a weed. I just moved him up to 6 month clothes. Crazy and very sad for this mommy. He squeals all the time which is so much fun to listen to. He wakes up in the morning squealing.





He has started rolling onto his side and is always moving himself around while on his back. He loves the TV and will just lay on the floor and watch it.

When he is sleeping good and has dropped his paci out of his mouth he continues to suck like he has it still in his mouth.



He will be 4 months on Saturday. Time goes way to fast.
